Description

The VX FPGA-MCU peripheral board is an industrial-grade embedded development board. It features an STM32F103 MCU and an Microsemi/Actel FPGA, connected to each other and provided on the pad lanes on both sides of the board. It can be used by itself or pluggen into a VX main board.

Board advantages:

Industrial-grade: the only requirements about working conditions of the board are the ones of the components
MCU-FPGA cointegration: the FPGA and MCU are connected with a 55-pin bus
Configurable options - select clock sources, flash memory, and RTC battery (see below)
Zero proprietary software: the FPGA and MCU on the board are programmed via JTAG

Board contains:

Microsemi/Actel IGLOO AGL250 V5 VQG100 FPGA
STM32F103ZET6 Microcontroller (and a footprint for the smaller STM32F103VCT6)
Buzzer
Reset button
Micro-USB connector routed to the STM32F103

Board configuration

Board options can be selected during purchase or added/removed by the customer afterwards.

The default setup is:

A 32,768KHz crystal as the LSE input of the STM32F103
A 12MHz crystal as the HSE input of the STM32F103

Additionally the board supports:

An ASTMTXK 32,768KHz high-precision oscillator as the LSE input of the STM32F103 instead of the 32,768KHz crystal
An Si5351A-B-GM clock generator as the HSE input of the STM32F103 instead of the 12MHz crystal
An RTC battery
W25X20CL 2MBit flash memory. Bigger capacity memories are also available on request
